Operator Interface: New Changes for New Year

The deepening recession and prolonged election season dominated 2008, characterizing it as a transition year. As we enter 2009, what resolutions and changes can be made in your business and in the amusement trade as a whole to soldier through the prevailing economic climate? How might the new year differ from this one for the amusement industry in terms of operating and promoting amusement games?

Manufacturers have stepped up by reducing game, e-commerce and upgrade pricing. Operators should try selective price reductions to find the point where players will spend a bit more in total dollars. Rather than just raising price per play in an attempt to make more money, this can help. Pinball at 75¢ for 1 play, $1.50 for 2 plays And $2.00 for 3 plays will usually bring in more revenue than just 75¢ play pricing.

Your mileage may vary.
